Cufflinks are reputed to have first appeared in the early seventeenth century as an alternative to ribbons and lace for securing cuffs. Affordable only by the wealthy initially, cufflinks soon evolved into an essential accessory for gentlemen. They became more widely available in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and today represent a key accessory for the modern, well-dressed man. Cufflinks are a natural complement to neckties, and give a touch of luxury and panache to a shirt.
Vanners designs and produces a wide spectrum of cufflinks and other metal accessories such as stud sets and tie pins, badges and bill folds. We produce high quality enamels on nickel plate, sterling silver and gold-plated sterling silver. We produce cast silver and a comprehensive range of settings including crystal, mother-of-pearl, semi-precious stones, wood, silk yarn, and miniature print. We also offer a large range of fittings including novel mechanicals, and can supply bespoke backplates.
We offer a hallmarking facility on our sterling silver cufflinks.
